Under the stars

Spine held firm together,
Pressed against roof;
Star, a dim light in fog,
Extended his fingers;
Mischievous star,
Hid behind clouds;
A tear flowed,
Star, immaculately, came out;
Hollowness, steep,
Chasm, ever widening;
Sky, earlier an invitation,
Daunting, it felt;
Arm fell by side,
Under a star;
Abstained for so long,
Atlast, he gave up.

Wet Mud

Rolling down the park,
Boy looked upwards;
Drop caressed skin,
Round, his eyes went;
Mother cried,
"Come back fast";
Smell better than a dough nut,
Stupified his senses;
Knelt to the ground,
Nose pressed into mud;
Sheepish grin, blushing,
Smell was ticklish;
Lips kissed the mud,
Now, he enjoys rain.

Amidst Thunder

Thunder encroached,
Devastation beckoned;
Ripples in potholes,
Leather held feet emerged;
Eyes, swollen pumpkins,
Pearls exploding;
Shattering the earth,
Ominously clattered clouds;
Feather light footsteps,
Declining to touch mud;
Fell down, a splash heard,
Stomach tore apart;
Nails dug into earth,
A scream escapes;
Laughter explodes,
Stillness reminds of grave;
Affinity to nothingness,
Amidst thunder.

A liability

Arid, dry emptiness,
Unknown and unfelt;
No vaccum,
Drained, dehydrated legs;
Presence not required,
Mesh in brain;
Smile, an alien,
Lined forehead said it all;
Pearls waited,
Desire to be understood grew;
Unwanted weed,
Uprootment awaits;
Unthought, just worried about,
Dark invites to its party;
Not a party animal,
Hymns at morgue come into mind.

First day in America

Plane streamlined,
Dived nose down;
Air hostess, a polite woman,
Said, "Welcome to America";
Grimace split my grin,
Jaw held tight;
Cab to the office,
Death cab floated in my mind;
Colleagues at office,
No introductions from my side;
Desk in my room,
Smelt of burnt wood;
Evening floated in,
A garden i craved for;
Verve blared in my ears,
Mind became numb, chilled;
First day in America,
Heartache made its way through my eyes.

Platform No 9

Lady in black,
Shimmers in the vapours;
Horn bloats,
Beat of heart slows down;
Waves swim on the rails,
Train approaches;
Coat flutters,
Man in grey dawns a cap;
A briefcase, an umbrella,
Both coated black;
Feet float,
Such a laid back walk;
Desire to look,
Overwhelming the feeling;
Thoughts fluttered in a butterfly manner,
Can i look one last time?
Lady smirks,
Screams,"There is no last time."

Fall from grace

A bony face peeped down,
Easy it seemed;
Wind shrieked,
A cleft in hair;
Robes clinged onto him,
Tremors initiated 'neath;
Energy out of bounds,
Such a waste;
Unrestricted horizons floated,
Jumped to get to stairway;
Feet met vaccum,
Gravity invited into abyss;
Laughter in air,
Screams on crust;
Gracious and in tuxedo,
It was just a fall from grace.

A leaf smirk

Leaf wakes,
Smirk doesn't die;
Darkness garners,
Smirk remains;
Shadow looms,
Earth bound by nature;
Is it there,
When it gets dark?
Sun widens the intensity,
Leaf feels embraced;
Stars colour,
The chromatin pigments;
Water dries,
Dependent on water table;
Sun burns like a copper,
Enjoys the tan;
Gravely laughs,
Smirk doesn't die.

Fluctuating Bulb

Current encapsulates,
Engulfed in darkness;
A bulb still fluctuates,
Smirked the man in electric chair;
Cob web of fraudulence,
Demarcated light and dark;
Time dawned, escaping,
Moresely, he waited;
Brown hair heavily dusted,
Mouth hid jaws held tight;
Morgue embarked,
A laugh escaped;
Heavy metal door opened,
Closed his eyes;
No cying, no begging,
Against the flow as always;
Bulb burst,
He felt sleepy.

Six feet under

A voice screams,
Decipheration impossible;
Arms stretched upwards,
the fabled treasure chests await;
Water, hyper-concentrated,
Salty body ready to stay afloat;
Mind, a numb cabbage,
Leaving empty globules;
Knives stroked epidermis,
No longer the pain felt;
Serendipity, a smile shone,
Eyes came alive;
No body fluidity,
Just a botch of cells;
Six feet under,
He welcomed abyss.

Death Shadow

Shadow creeps,
Death looms;
A face approaches,
But it's masked;
A knife volunteers,
To venture and castrate the veins;
Victim quivers,
Pushed to the corner of the room;
Doors open and close,
But the doors were bolted;
Cold freeze settles in,
Insides are shredded;
Contradicting to heat outside,
Victim craves for death;
Illusions crawl,
It's just a shadow.

NATURE

A hush,
But it's a havoc;
Birds twitter,
Reality bites and they wreath;
Leaves, fluid in motion,
Inhaling their last gasps;
Trees, standing tall,
Atlast their backs torn by saws;
Animals, proud of their influoroscent colors,
Death has taken its toll;
Gravity bind raindrops once giving life,
Now usher in the floods;
Rivers, availabilty free,
Lie cold and dry;
A sound of joy, a chasm in the air,
Air is gone, humans cry.

Chameleon

Camouflage, a benificiary,
Unknown and untold always;
Apron of myriad of colours,
My beauty never falters;
Unyielding, in my mould,
I change but i never change;
Prowling, searching,
Eyes twitter like a prism;
Truth be told,
I am a beautiful chameleon.
